SAJE: Senior Adult Jewish Education
A Community of Learners with Rabbi Molly Karp
Course: Ruth and the Women of Judges
Six Tuesday mornings, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4, and 11. Tuition $300
All Times are Eastern, all classes meet via Zoom.
Classes are interactive and intimate, with an enrollment limit of 10 per class.  Set in the period of the Judges, the Book of Ruth is the megillah that we read for Shavuot.  Judges, also set in that time, features a number of dramatic stories about women.  Read Ruth along with the stories of Deborah, Yael, Jephtach’s daughter, Delilah, and the unnamed wife of the Levite that closes the book. Explore these stories with an eye towards understanding their simple and metaphorical meaning. No previous knowledge of Hebrew Bible is necessary. “Try before you pay” is available for new students. All sessions are recorded for those who miss a class. Private sessions and asynchronous options are available. New courses often form by request. To express your interest, with questions, to request a course, or *for a sliding scale in cases of genuine need, write to Rabbi Karp at rabbimollykarp@gmail.com. Sliding scale is made possible thanks to a generous anonymous donor. Your contribution, above tuition, can also help fund sliding-scale tuition. Learn about Rabbi Karp at www.rabbimollykarp.com and at www.linkedin.com/in/mollykarp.
