The Binder Family at World Maccabiah Games

The Binder Family  of Armonk has returned from the 21st World Maccabiah Games in Israel with wonderful memories and new friends. Father Jeffrey, Abigail and Zachary were all part of the USA delegation.

“Overall, my Maccabiah experience was very positive,” Abby said. “ I met amazing Jewish volleyball players from all over the country and the world. Not only did I get to play the sport that I love, but I got to explore a part of the world I had never been to before,” the 20 year old noted.

“For the first few days of the trip, we took part in the Israel Connect program that Maccabi USA had set up. All the USA teams got to visit beautiful historical and holy sites around Israel. It was very interesting to be visiting places like the Western Wall and Masada, that have thousands of years of rich history, with a group of people that I had just met. I think it helped me create a special bond with my new teammates and friends that will last a lifetime.

“My Open Women’s Volleyball team fought hard throughout the competition and came in 4th overall. I am so grateful to have had this experience and look forward to possibly participating in future Maccabiah events!”
