Elected Officials to Join Community Leaders and New Yorkers for “New York Stands with Israel” at Dag-Hammarskjold Plaza October 10

Elected officials are expected to join community leaders and New Yorkers of all backgrounds at the “New York Stands with Israel” vigil and rally on Tuesday, October 10th. The event will open to the media beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Dag-Hammarskjold Plaza (located at the intersection of 47th Street and 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan. The vigil and rally is expected to begin at approximately 5:00 p.m.

The vigil and rally is being organized by UJA-Federation of New York (UJA) and the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY), as well as ADL-NY, AJC-NY, the American Zionist Movement, the Association of Reform Zionists of America and COJECO.

As Israel defends itself from unprecedented terrorist attacks which have impacted thousands of victims, the rally and vigil will bring together public figures, civic and nonprofit leaders, as well as a number of faith-based organizations and New Yorkers who stand united with the people of Israel.

UJA-Federation of New York is allocating an initial $10 million in emergency funding from its endowment to provide immediate relief to the thousands of victims of the vicious terrorist attacks. UJA-Federation has also launched an Israel Emergency Fund to raise the necessary resources to support its nonprofit partners proving critical aid to the people of Israel.
