The JCC Mid-Westchester Announces Volunteer Mission to Israel Opportunity for Adults

On January 11, the JCC Mid-Westchester (JCCMW) announced a unique  opportunity for adults passionate about Israel. Rabbi Dahlia Bernstein, Senior Director of Jewish Engagement and Care Services at JCCMW, will lead a group  to  Israel to stand in solidarity with those in need and provide direct assistance through impactful volunteer work.

Participants will connect with local communities and families affected by the  ongoing  situation and learn from insightful speakers sharing their experiences and perspectives. By joining hands and hearts, this group will communicate a powerful message of support to the people of Israel letting them know “You are not alone.”

Included in the itinerary are discussions with experts in the IDF and intelligence agencies, and visiting injured soldiers and evacuees at a local medical center. Volunteer work will include packaging essential supplies for IDF soldiers and  agricultural support for local farmers.

When asked about the significance of this mission, Rabbi Bernstein shared, “There are many amazing ways to support Israel from afar, but showing up is a different  kind of giving that touches people in a very personal way, both for the receiver and the giver.”
