Jewish High School Students Showcase Advocacy Initiative

American Jewish Committee’s Leaders For Tomorrow (LFT) program empowers high school students to turn their learning into action by implementing an original capstone project that combats antisemitism, strengthens Jewish identity, and builds intergroup understanding. This year’s finalists addressed Jewish visibility, October 7 remembrance, and inclusion through educational campaigns, campus installations, and library initiatives.

The inaugural recipients of the LFT Advocacy Capstone Project Award are Tessa Siegel, Sarah Korff, and Sydney Kurtz (New York City), Kate Effress and Abigail Weisman (San Diego). Mazal tov to these five outstanding students, who have each been awarded scholarships to attend AJC Global Forum 2026 in Washington, DC next June!

Applications for LFT 2025-2026 are now open. LFT is AJC’s premier, year-long leadership program that empowers Jewish high school students to build confident Jewish identities. Through immersive learning, hands-on experiences, and skill-building, LFT prepares students to combat antisemitism, engage meaningfully with their communities, and advocate for the Jewish people and Israel—in high school, on campus, and beyond.

LFT proactively equips Jewish teens with the knowledge and network to meet the challenges they face in high school and on their future college campus. With access to our network of over 3,500 alumni, LFT students continue to support each other as they bring their advocacy skills into the halls of government and their local communities.
